A blood transfusion is the transfer of blood or blood products from one person (donor) into another person’s bloodstream (recipient). This is usually done as a lifesaving maneuver to replace blood cells or blood products lost through severe bleeding, during surgery when blood loss occurs or to increase the blood count in an anemic patient. The following material is provided to all patients and/or their family members regarding blood transfusions and the use of blood products. Although in most situations the likelihood of a blood transfusion associated with surgery is uncommon, at times patients may require blood products. You are encouraged to discuss your particular need for transfusion as well as the risks of transfusion with your doctor.
Did the Bible approve the blood transfusion?
Apostle John said we must lay down our life for the Breathren
1 John 3:16 ” We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives ( life’s) for the brethren.
giving life for the breathren is sharing our bloods to them because blood’s is life.
Leviticus 17:11 ► For the life of the body is in its blood…”
The Sun has always been the center of our cosmological systems. But with the advent of modern astronomy, humans have become aware of the fact that the Sun is merely one of countless stars in our Universe. In essence, it is a perfectly normal example of a G-type main-sequence star (G2V, aka. “yellow dwarf”). And like all stars, it has a lifespan, characterized by a formation, main sequence, and eventual death.
The Bible states the sun has one kind of glory and even stars differ from each other in the glory it ‘is reffer to sun life cycle :
stars glories depend on his cycle
1 Corinthians 15:41
“The sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind. And even the stars differ from each other in their glory.
This lifespan began roughly 4.6 billion years ago, and will continue for about another 4.5 – 5.5 billion years, when it will deplete its supply of hydrogen, helium, and collapse into a white dwarf. But this is just the abridged version of the Sun’s lifespan. As always, God (or the Devil, depending on who you ask) is in the details!
To break it down, the Sun is about half way through the most stable part of its life. Over the course of the past four billion years, during which time planet Earth and the entire Solar System was born, it has remained relatively unchanged. This will stay the case for another four billion years, at which point, it will have exhausted its supply of hydrogen fuel. When that happens, some pretty drastic things will take place!
The Birth of the Sun:
According to Nebular Theory, the Sun and all the planets of our Solar System began as a giant cloud of molecular gas and dust. Then, about 4.57 billion years ago, something happened that caused the cloud to collapse. This could have been the result of a passing star, or shock waves from a supernova, but the end result was a gravitational collapse at the center of the cloud.
From this collapse, pockets of dust and gas began to collect into denser regions. As the denser regions pulled in more and more matter, conservation of momentum caused it to begin rotating, while increasing pressure caused it to heat up. Most of the material ended up in a ball at the center while the rest of the matter flattened out into disk that circled around it.
The ball at the center would eventually form the Sun, while the disk of material would form the planets. The Sun spent about 100,000 years as a collapsing protostar before temperature and pressures in the interior ignited fusion at its core. The Sun started as a T Tauri star – a wildly active star that blasted out an intense solar wind. And just a few million years later, it settled down into its current form. The life cycle of the Sun had begun.
The Main Sequence:
The Sun, like most stars in the Universe, is on the main sequence stage of its life, during which nuclear fusion reactions in its core fuse hydrogen into helium. Every second, 600 million tons of matter are converted into neutrinos, solar radiation, and roughly 4 x 1027 Watts of energy. For the Sun, this process began 4.57 billion years ago, and it has been generating energy this way every since.
However, this process cannot last forever since there is a finite amount of hydrogen in the core of the Sun. So far, the Sun has converted an estimated 100 times the mass of the Earth into helium and solar energy. As more hydrogen is converted into helium, the core continues to shrink, allowing the outer layers of the Sun to move closer to the center and experience a stronger gravitational force.
This places more pressure on the core, which is resisted by a resulting increase in the rate at which fusion occurs. Basically, this means that as the Sun continues to expend hydrogen in its core, the fusion process speeds up and the output of the Sun increases. At present, this is leading to a 1% increase in luminosity every 100 million years, and a 30% increase over the course of the last 4.5 billion years.
In 1.1 billion years from now, the Sun will be 10% brighter than it is today, and this increase in luminosity will also mean an increase in heat energy, which Earth’s atmosphere will absorb. This will trigger a moist greenhouse effect here on Earth that is similar to the runaway warming that turned Venus into the hellish environment we see there today.
In 3.5 billion years from now, the Sun will be 40% brighter than it is right now. This increase will cause the oceans to boil, the ice caps to permanently melt, and all water vapor in the atmosphere to be lost to space. Under these conditions, life as we know it will be unable to survive anywhere on the surface. In short, planet Earth will come to be another hot, dry Venus.
Core Hydrogen Exhaustion:
All things must end. That is true for us, that is true for the Earth, and that is true for the Sun. It’s not going to happen anytime soon, but one day in the distant future, the Sun will run out of hydrogen fuel and slowly slouch towards death. This will begin in approximate 5.4 billion years, at which point the Sun will exit the main sequence of its lifespan.
With its hydrogen exhausted in the core, the inert helium ash that has built up there will become unstable and collapse under its own weight. This will cause the core to heat up and get denser, causing the Sun to grow in size and enter the Red Giant phase of its evolution. It is calculated that the expanding Sun will grow large enough to encompass the orbit’s of Mercury, Venus, and maybe even Earth. Even if the Earth survives, the intense heat from the red sun will scorch our planet and make it completely impossible for life to survive.
Final Phase and Death:
Once it reaches the Red-Giant-Branch (RGB) phase, the Sun will haves approximately 120 million years of active life left. But much will happen in this amount of time. First, the core (full of degenerate helium), will ignite violently in a helium flash – where approximately 6% of the core and 40% of the Sun’s mass will be converted into carbon within a matter of minutes.
The Sun will then shrink to around 10 times its current size and 50 times its luminosity, with a temperature a little lower than today. For the next 100 million years, it will continue to burn helium in its core until it is exhausted. By this point, it will be in its Asymptotic-Giant-Branch (AGB) phase, where it will expand again (much faster this time) and become more luminous.
Over the course of the next 20 million years, the Sun will then become unstable and begin losing mass through a series of thermal pulses. These will occur every 100,000 years or so, becoming larger each time and increasing the Sun’s luminosity to 5,000 times its current brightness and its radius to over 1 AU.
At this point, the Sun’s expansion will either encompass the Earth, or leave it entirely inhospitable to life. Planets in the Outer Solar System are likely to change dramatically, as more energy is absorbed from the Sun, causing their water ices to sublimate – perhaps forming dense atmosphere and surface oceans. After 500,000 years or so, only half of the Sun’s current mass will remain and its outer envelope will begin to form a planetary nebula.
The post-AGB evolution will be even faster, as the ejected mass becomes ionized to form a planetary nebula and the exposed core reaches 30,000 K. The final, naked core temperature will be over 100,000 K, after which the remnant will cool towards a white dwarf. The planetary nebula will disperse in about 10,000 years, but the white dwarf will survive for trillions of years before fading to black.
Ultimate Fate of our Sun:
When people think of stars dying, what typically comes to mind are massive supernovas and the creation of black holes. However, this will not be the case with our Sun, due to the simple fact that it is not nearly massive enough. While it might seem huge to us, but the Sun is a relatively low mass star compared to some of the enormous high mass stars out there in the Universe.
As such, when our Sun runs out of hydrogen fuel, it will expand to become a red giant, puff off its outer layers, and then settle down as a compact white dwarf star, then slowly cooling down for trillions of years. If, however, the Sun had about 10 times its current mass, the final phase of its lifespan would be significantly more (ahem) explosive.
When this super-massive Sun ran out of hydrogen fuel in its core, it would switch over to converting atoms of helium, and then atoms of carbon (just like our own). This process would continue, with the Sun consuming heavier and heavier fuel in concentric layers. Each layer would take less time than the last, all the way up to nickel – which could take just a day to burn through.
Then, iron would starts to build up in the core of the star. Since iron doesn’t give off any energy when it undergoes nuclear fusion, the star would have no more outward pressure in its core to prevent it from collapsing inward. When about 1.38 times the mass of the Sun is iron collected at the core, it would catastrophically implode, releasing an enormous amount of energy.
Within eight minutes, the amount of time it takes for light to travel from the Sun to Earth, an incomprehensible amount of energy would sweep past the Earth and destroy everything in the Solar System. The energy released from this might be enough to briefly outshine the galaxy, and a new nebula (like the Crab Nebula) would be visible from nearby star systems, expanding outward for thousands of years.
All that would remain of the Sun would be a rapidly spinning neutron star, or maybe even a stellar black hole. But of course, this is not to be our Sun’s fate. Given its mass, it will eventually collapse into a white star until it burns itself out. And of course, this won’t be happening for another 6 billion years or so. By that point, humanity will either be long dead or have moved on. In the meantime, we have plenty of days of sunshine to look forward to!
There’s a substantial body of scientific evidence that exercise helps improve sleep. Making exercise part of your regular routine can contribute to healthier, more restful sleep—and may help improve sleep issues such as insomnia.
The Bible states ….
Ecclesiastes 5:12
“People who work hard sleep well, whether they eat little or much. But the rich seldom get a good night’s sleep.”
How can exercise affect your sleep?
Exercise can give a boost to sleep in several ways. Making time to exercise can…
Improve sleep quality. Exercise can contribute to more sound and restful sleep. Physical activity increases time spent in deep sleep, the most physically restorative sleep phase. Deep sleep helps to boost immune function, support cardiac health, and control stress and anxiety.
Increase sleep amounts. In addition to improving the quality of sleep, exercise also can help you increase the duration of your nightly rest. Being physically active requires you to expend energy, and helps you feel more tired and ready to rest at the end of the day. Research indicates that exercise—in particular, regular exercise that’s part of a consistent routine—can help boost sleep duration, in addition to sleep quality.
Reduce stress and relieve anxiety. A regular exercise routine can help to reduce your stress levels. Stress is a common cause of sleep problems, including trouble falling asleep and sleeping restlessly during the night. Exercise is a potent remedy for anxiety and other mood disorders—just 5 minutes of exercise can trigger anti-anxiety responses in the body. Mind-body exercise such as yoga can help quiet the parasympathetic nervous system, which can help you relax. Research shows that mind-body exercises such as yoga and stretching can help to lower cortisol levels and reduce blood pressure, as well as having positive effects on mood.
Help with insomnia and other sleep disorders. Scientific evidence indicates that exercise can be an effective natural therapy for insomnia. We have a lot to learn about how exercise may help treat insomnia and other sleep disorders. Studies suggest that aerobic exercise may be particularly effective in helping reduce insomnia symptoms. Research also indicates that for people with insomnia, the benefits of exercise kick in over time, rather than immediately. Studies have also found that exercise can help lower the severity of sleep disordered breathing and may help to reduce the severity of obstructive sleep apnea.
The Bible states that human flesh is made of brass?
Job 6:12 KJV
“Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brass? “
What is Brass?
👉 yellow alloy of copper and zinc.
Scientific study discoverd that our human body is composed of elements which can be roughly include zinc (Zn), and copper (Cu) Copper is an essential trace element that is vital to the health of all living things (humans, plants, animals, and microorganisms). In humans, copper is essential to the proper functioning of organs and metabolic processes. The human body has complex homeostatic mechanisms which attempt to ensure a constant supply of available copper, while eliminating excess copper whenever this occurs. However, like all essential elements and nutrients, too much or too little nutritional ingestion of copper can result in a corresponding condition of copper excess or deficiency in the body, each of which has its own unique set of adverse health effects. Zinc is an important trace mineral that people need to stay healthy. Of the trace minerals, this element is second only to iron in its concentration in the body.Zinc is found in cells throughout the body. It is needed for the body’s defensive (immune) system to properly work. It plays a role in cell division, cell growth, wound healing, and the breakdown of carbohydrates.Zinc is also needed for the senses of smell and taste. During pregnancy, infancy, and childhood the body needs zinc to grow and develop properly. Zinc also enhances the action of insulin.
In this study, a functional magnetic resonance imaging paradigm originally employed by Takahashi et al. was adapted to look for emotion-specific differences in functional brain activity within a healthy German sample (N = 14), using shame- and guilt-related stimuli and neutral stimuli. Activations were found for both of these emotions in the temporal lobe (shame condition: anterior cingulate cortex, parahippocampal gyrus; guilt condition: fusiform gyrus, middle temporal gyrus). Specific activations were found for shame in the frontal lobe (medial and inferior frontal gyrus), and for guilt in the amygdala and insula. This is consistent with Takahashi et al.’s results obtained for a Japanese sample (using Japanese stimuli), which showed activations in the fusiform gyrus, hippocampus, middle occipital gyrus and parahippocampal gyrus. During the imagination of shame, frontal and temporal areas (e.g. middle frontal gyrus and parahippocampal gyrus) were responsive regardless of gender. In the guilt condition, women only activate temporal regions, whereas men showed additional frontal and occipital activation as well as a responsive amygdala. The results suggest that shame and guilt share some neural networks, as well as having individual areas of activation. It can be concluded that frontal, temporal and limbic areas play a prominent role in the generation of moral feelings.
The cerebral cortex (plural cortices), also known as the cerebral mantle, is the outer layer of neural tissue of the cerebrum of the brain in humans and other mammals. It is separated into two cortices, by the longitudinal fissure that divides the cerebrum into the left and right cerebral hemispheres. The two hemispheres are joined beneath the cortex by the corpus callosum. The cerebral cortex is the largest site of neural integration in the central nervous system. It plays a key role in attention, perception, awareness, thought, memory, language, and consciousness.m
The Bible states in
Psalms 68:21
“But God will strike through the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of such a one as still continues in his guiltiness.”
the hairy scalp continues in his guiltiness
Why did the Bible describe the hairy scalp of the head as being continues in his guiltness? Why didn’t the Bible say that the person was continues in his guiltnessl? What is the relationship between the hairy scalp of the head in guiltness ?
If we look into the skull at the hairy scalp of the head, we will find the prefrontal area of the cerebrum . What does physiology tell us about the function of this area? A book entitled Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology says about this area, “The motivation and the foresight to plan and initiate movements occur in the anterior portion of the frontal lobes, the prefrontal area. This is a region of association cortex…” Also the book says, “In relation to its involvement in motivation, the prefrontal area is also thought to be the functional center for aggression….”
So, this area of the cerebrum is responsible for planning, motivating, and initiating good and sinful behavior and is responsible for the telling of lies and the speaking of truth. Thus, it is proper to describe the hairy scalp of the head as guilltness and sinful when someone commits a sin, as the Bible has said, “…A hairy scalp continues in his guiltness )!”
Scientists have only discovered these functions of the prefrontal area in the last sixty years.
the Bible states about a hot wind from the bare height in the desert :
Jeremiah 4:11 “At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, “A hot wind from the bare heights in the desert toward the daughter of my people, not to winnow or cleanse.”
A heatwave occurs when a system of high atmospheric pressure moves into an area and lasts two or more days. In such a high-pressure system, air from upper levels of our atmosphere is pulled toward the ground, where it becomes compressed and increases in temperature.
This high concentration of pressure makes it difficult for other weather systems to move into the area, which is why a heatwave can last for several days or weeks. The longer the system stays in an area, the hotter the area becomes. The high-pressure inhibits winds, making them faint-to-nonexistent. Because the high-pressure system also prevents clouds from entering the region, sunlight can become punishing, heating up the system even more. The combination of all of these factors come together to create the exceptionally hot temperatures we call a heatwave.
Heat Waves Can Be Deadly
While the phrase “dangerous weather” may conjure up images of blizzards, hurricanes or tornadoes, it’s important to remember that heatwaves can be deadly. During a heatwave, you can protect yourself by staying out of the sun during the hottest parts of the day, avoiding strenuous activities, and keeping yourself hydrated with plenty of fresh water.
And when humidity and dew points are high along with the temperatures, things can get very uncomfortable!
Copper has antimicrobial properties, meaning it can kill microorganisms like bacteria and viruses. However, the microorganism has to come in contact with the copper in order for it to be killed. This is referred to as “contact killing.”
According to Edward Bilsky, Ph.D., Provost and Chief Academic Officer at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, copper can kill germs in a few ways:
It disrupts bacterial cell membranes — copper ions damage cell membranes or “envelopes” and can destroy the DNA or RNA of the microbe
It generates oxidative stress on bacterial cells and creates hydrogen peroxide that can kill the cell
It interferes with proteins that operate important functions that keep bacterial cells alive
The exact mechanism of how copper interferes with proteins in bacterial cells is not fully understood yet, but the current hypothesis is mis-metalation, thanks to the fact that copper is a stable metal.
“Mis-metalation is the ability of a metal to basically replace another metal,” says Michael D. L. Johnson, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Immunobiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. “Copper can just replace some of the other metals that are present in some of these other proteins [in bacteria] and by doing so, it blocks the function of those proteins.”
When you block a protein’s function, it starts a bacteria-killing chain reaction. “By blocking the function of the protein, you block the function of the pathway. When you block the function of the pathway, you block the function of the organism, and then the organism is just dead in the water,” says Johnson.
Copper can kill viruses and bacteria Studies have shown that copper can kill many types of germs on contact. According to a 2015 study published in Health Environments Research and Design Journal, some of the common germs copper has been proven to kill are:
MRSA E. coli Influenza A Norovirus
The Bible states …
The priests washed in the laver of copper before entering the holy place. The laver of copper was a wash basin used by priests in the tabernacle in the wilderness, as a place where they cleansed their hands and feet.
Moses received these instructions from God:
“Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a copper basin, with its copper stand, for washing. Place it between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it. Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet with water from it. Whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die. Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting an offering made to the LORD by fire, they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.” — ( Exodus 30:17-21)
Modern science discovered that copper (bronze ) can kill bacteria and viruses .
Brand new research published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that copper can be effective against SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for the coronavirus pandemic. The study showed that after four hours, the virus was no longer infectious on copper’s surface. In comparison, coronavirus was still infectious on plastic surfaces after 72 hours.
The applications of antimicrobial copper One of the main applications of copper is in hospitals, although the use is not widespread. In the same study as above, researchers determined the germiest surfaces in a hospital room – bed rails, call buttons, chair arms, tray table, data input, and IV pole – and replaced them with copper components.
The results were very promising. Compared to the rooms made with traditional materials, there was an 83% reduction in bacterial load on the surfaces in the rooms with copper components. Additionally, infection rates of patients were reduced by 58%.
Technically, you can use copper at home. However, according to Johnson, the majority of copper products for the home have a treatment on it to prevent the oxidation that causes the beautiful original color of the copper to turn to a greenish-blue over time. This treatment prevents you from getting the beneficial antimicrobial properties of copper. That being said, copper still has the ability to be toxic to bacteria when it’s at this oxidized greenish state, however, according to Johnson, scientists still don’t know exactly how this mechanism works.
According to current research, the downside of using copper is that it isn’t as effective at destroying viruses as it is at killing bacteria – particularly if it’s an airborne virus. Much of this has to do with the fact that viruses are technically not living organisms — they are infection agents, which are not “alive” like cells are, and as such they are more durable.
“Viruses are different in that they are not cells but rather infect healthy cells that allows them to replicate. The virus can come in direct contact with the upper respiratory tract and eyes and enter healthy cells, so a copper strategy would be largely ineffective [in that case],” says Bilsky.
Another downside is that there are some unsubstantiated claims that may mislead people. Some companies try to market copper jewelry or copper-infused socks as antimicrobial protection for the wearer, but these are ineffective.
Hopefully, more research will continue to be conducted so we can better understand the antimicrobial properties of copper and the most effective ways to use it in everyday life to keep us healthy.
What the Bible say about caring and protecting our enviroment:
The Bible states…Do not harm the earth or the sea nor the tree:
Revelation 7:3
Saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
logging is forbidden:
Deuteronomy 20:19
When you lay siege to a city for an extended time while fighting against it to capture it, you must not destroy its trees by putting an axe to them, because you can eat their fruit. You must not cut them down. Are the trees of the field human, that you should besiege them?
Yes! We are the steward our planet earth to cultivate it and keep it:
Genesis 2:15
Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.
All animals is under our authority :
Psalms 8:4-9
What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands;you put everything under their feet:all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild the birds in the sky,and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
Genesis 1:27-28
So God created mankind in his own image,in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
We need to coexist with other living things:
Psalms 36:6
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, LORD, preserve both people and animals.
The Wrath of God has come to those people who caused destruction on the earth :
Revelation 11:18
The nations were filled with wrath, but now the time of your wrath has come. It is time to judge the dead and reward your servants the prophets, as well as your holy people, and all who fear your name, from the least to the greatest. It is time to destroy all who have caused destruction on the earth.”
God’s love this World that he give his one and only Son : and We are belong to this world:
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
First : We have to wash our hands always and make yourselves clean ?
Isaiah 1:16
“Wash and make yourselves clean…”
2nd : Eat nutritius foods like fruits and vegetables then water to drink to strengthen your immune system:
Daniel 1:12
“Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink.”
Genesis 2:16
But the LORD God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—
3rd : Prevent touching unclean things and seperate yourself :
2 Corinthians 6:17
Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”
4th:Stay away from the treat of the virus ( Social Distancing and enhanced community quarantine)
1 Thessalonians 5:22
Stay away from every kind of evil.
Isaiah 26:20
Go home, my people, and lock your doors! Hide yourselves for a little while until the LORD’s anger has passed.
5th : Daily exercise :
1 Timothy 4:8
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
6th : The most important don’t worry talked to God through prayer for your protection:
Philippians 4:6
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness!
2 Corinthians 7:1
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
If you have a Symptoms of a COVID 19 consult the Medical doctor:
Matthew 9:12
On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
If you infected by the virus quarantine your self:
Leviticus 13:46
“He shall remain unclean all the days during which he has the infection; he is unclean. He shall live alone; his dwelling shall be outside the camp.
Hygine :
Leviticus 15:12
“When the man has been cleansed from his discharge, he must count off seven days for his cleansing, wash his clothes, and bathe himself in fresh running water, and he shall be clean.
Virus and Bacteria is real:
Numbers 19:22
And whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean, and anyone who touches it shall be unclean until evening.”
The Prophetic Event about the outbreak of the virus :
Micah 3:7
The seers will be ashamed And the diviners will be embarrassed Indeed, they will all cover their mouths Because there is no answer from God.
Guys always pay careful attention to yourselves:
Acts 20 :28
Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
The Bible states :The cause when you looked at the sun:
Job 31:26 If I have looked at the sun when it shone Or the moon going in splendor,
◼Photokeratitis and photoconjunctivitis:
Both feel like a sunburn to the eye and are caused by UVB rays. They can be caused by directly looking at the sun, or by reflected UV from snow, concrete, water and sand, or from arc welding. Snow blindness is a form of photokeratitis. Welder’s flash or ‘arc eye’ is another form.
You may already know that it’s pretty difficult to look directly up at the sun at noon. It’s not only immediately discomforting, but can also have long-term or permanent adverse effects on your eyes. In fact, that’s why scientists and stargazers strongly advise you to avoid watching a sun.
Basically, harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun can damage your eyes if you look at the sun directly. But what about the times when you look at the sun, but with your peripheral vision, or in other words, from the corners of your eyes? We don’t usually hear about people getting eye problems by looking at the sun sideways, right? Why is that?
Why does having the sun visible in your peripheral vision not do any damage to your vision?
How are eyes affected when you look at the sun directly?
When one stares at the sun for too long, it can result in too much ultraviolet light flooding the retina, causing solar retinopathy. In the worst cases, this can cause permanent blindness (although that’s rare), but looking directly at the sun is so painful that it’s usually impossible for anyone to stare at the sun for that long. Typical damage to the eyes after staring directly at the sun include dark or yellow spots, dimmed or blurred vision, and loss of vision in the center of the eye (the fovea), among others.
Looking up at the noon sun is one of the most dangerous things you can do to your eyes.
Now, let’s try to understand the specifics of this issue – there is a lens in the front of the eye, whose primary job is to focus incoming light onto the macula – an oval-shaped pigmented area near the center of the retina. It has the highest concentration of nerves and the thinnest protective layers.
The pupil is directly in front of the eye; so, when you look at the sun directly, the lens focuses the light right on the retina, which can result in damage.
